Yey I'm famous!

Well, I've made it onto a website in York!

Over the last month/6 weeks I've been doing some art course at Artfulness - an art gallery and cafe in the centre of York.

They've been great courses - and I'm now on the website advertising them!

Hopefully you'll recognise me, and then my paintings are the one with fairies, and then the one with blue/pink background and yellow flowers.

Lord of the Keys

Just a little God story.

I went out Saturday night to see some friends, and took my bike. When I came to leave I realised I couldn't find my bike key (thankfully I hadn't locked my bike, so I could still get home). I looked everywhere for it, to no avail, including searching the road in the dark on the way home.
This is exactly the kind of little thing that really stresses me. I didn't want to have to spend money on a new bike lock, and I didn't like the idea of someone having my key. So I prayed, and trusted God, and was therefore able to go to sleep calm and in the knowledge that he'd find it for me.
I woke up having dreamt that the key was in the hood of my coat. Not quite believing it, I went to look, and there it was!!! Awesomeness.
I love the fact that God cares about the minute details - and therefore I see how much his love for me is.

Entertainingly I then discovered a friend who'd lost his keys, encouraged him to pray, and now he's found them!

I guess sometimes we forgot that we can take the little things to God, not just big things. He really does care about everything.

Missing the NYFC forum

I just wanted to say that I'm missing the NYFC forum.
I've got loads of questions about many things, that I'd like many different perspectives on, but I don't know where to go with them!
The forum was a great place to get discussing.

Drumming

Well, after 2 months of learning, I got to be the drummer in the band at church last night!

How amazing! Something I've always wanted to do and I loved it! May there be many more opportunities! I even got a round of applase at the end!

It's so wierd being part of a worship team where I'm not singing. I'm so used to doing that, and drumming brings a whole new angle to worship. I've really got to feel the words and the song, concentrate hard to what the band is doing - and basically just experiment at the moment! (oh, and keep time obviously!)

I'm excited about what else I can learn to do and the freedom to express that it brings. I love the fact that it still shocks people when I say I play the drums - they totally don't expect it.

Just got to figure out a way to transport it now. Can get most of the equipment into a holdall on wheels, and am going to see if I can fit the stand and toms in my sisters cello case - which I can then carry on my back! Then I just need to save up for a drum machine more myself so that I can assign the sounds I want rather than just using the set kits. Oh and maybe an amp ;) But so far at church and choir it's fine as I can beg, borrow and steal ;)

Yey for birthdays and Yorkshire pudding

23 today - whooo!

So overwhelmed by cards and chocolate gifts from my fellow group members at St Andrews - made me feel well appreciated!

Becky, Sarah and I went to Lendal Cellars for tea and had their wonderful Roast beef wrapped in Yorkshire pudding - to die for! It's so indescribably (sp?!) amazing! Mmmmm.... Becky also bought me a gingerbread house to make and ice - so I think we shall have an entertaining evening some time in our house! My wonderful housemates decorated the house for me too - which was great to wake up to!

And I've almost paid off my drum kit - so cheers again to those who contributed for my birthday!

I've had a lovely day.

Christmas Blessings.

I've not done Christmas cards this year - if I'd had the time or the money I'd have sent this to everyone:
It's situated on the wall of the West Bank outside Bethlehem. We saw it as we came through the checkpoint after visiting Bethlehem and learning of it's current day hopelessness and helplessness. So a bit of a reality check for the season.

Christmas Blessings.

York City Gospel Choir

York City Gospel Choir started in May this year, and after scarily having to audition for it I've been really enjoying it! Both the singing and getting to know the other members.

It's truely amazing how people respond to the songs - so many people are touched by God and glimpse his love and glory.

If anyone's in York on the 15th Dec we have a Christmas concert - let me know if you are!

We've recently been recording for a demo as we've been having loads of requests from radio and such like. It was quite fun recording it, and here are some samples:
