Drumming

Well, after 2 months of learning, I got to be the drummer in the band at church last night!

How amazing! Something I've always wanted to do and I loved it! May there be many more opportunities! I even got a round of applase at the end!

It's so wierd being part of a worship team where I'm not singing. I'm so used to doing that, and drumming brings a whole new angle to worship. I've really got to feel the words and the song, concentrate hard to what the band is doing - and basically just experiment at the moment! (oh, and keep time obviously!)

I'm excited about what else I can learn to do and the freedom to express that it brings. I love the fact that it still shocks people when I say I play the drums - they totally don't expect it.

Just got to figure out a way to transport it now. Can get most of the equipment into a holdall on wheels, and am going to see if I can fit the stand and toms in my sisters cello case - which I can then carry on my back! Then I just need to save up for a drum machine more myself so that I can assign the sounds I want rather than just using the set kits. Oh and maybe an amp ;) But so far at church and choir it's fine as I can beg, borrow and steal ;)
