Christianness on campus

I'm am laughing at God today. Or rather he's perhaps saying to me 'See!!'

I went to a campus unity talk at Soul Survivor thinking it would be about how to juggle CU and church. It wasn't, it was about juggling different Christian groups on campus. I then promptly switched off thinking, well there's only one group on my campus and there's only 6000 of us anyway.

Today at Freshers Fair I discovered a new group. Student Christian Movement www.movement.org.uk
I thought, ok cool that's interesting. They advertise themselves as being more liberal and welcoming of all people unlike the CU. I asked if they were working against the CU and they said no. But them seem to be doing the same things.

I have to admit that the thought to start an alternative Christian group had crossed my mind as I found the CU too cliquey, strict and unwelcoming. But I didn't like the idea of the Christians being divided on campus, so I was planning to start a SPEAK group working alongside CU rather than in competition with. It has now become clear that the CU leaders knew nothing about this new group until the Freshers Fair today, so it's all going to be very interesting I think.
