Train Tickets

I just managed to catch my train back to York yesterday at 8.57am. Silly to pick at train during rush hour really!

Anyway, I hadn't bought a ticket and Norwich station doesn't have any ticket machines so you just have to queue and hope that you get to the front before your train leaves. I got there with about 5mins to spare so I ran to the front (there were about 15 people) telling everyone that my train was about to go. I discovered that at least the 4 front people had the same problem so I let them go first.

It was a very un-Helen thing to do. I'm never usuallly that assertive and forceful. I even heard someone exclaim 'How rude!' but I stuck to it otherwise I would have missed my train. It took me most of the train journey to recover and persuade myself that other angry customers weren't gonna come and have a go at me!

Did I do the right thing?

If there was a particularly good reason that you had to get that one rather than the 9:57, then you were certainly justified. If not, well you still might be justified...

Incidentally, I got the 8:57 on Monday...!
